What does a day at Red Frog Beach cost? The boat ride from Bocas takes about 10 minutes, the cost is $ 10.00 for a single person, $ 8.00 if there are more than one person for the round trip. Then it will cost $ 3.00 per person to use the trail across the Island to the beach. Getting there and back is a total of $ 13.00 for one person or $ 11.00 each if more than one. A beer at the Flip Flop Bar & Grill costs $ 1.75, a soda $ 1.00, mixed drinks Piña Colada, Banana Colada etc. $ 3.00. Food runs from about $ 7.XX for chicken to $ 12.00 for Lobster. Our recommendation is to bring a sandwich for emergencies. When we visited there was no food other than Chips and Patacones (Patacones are basically a banana type fruit, but not sweet and much firmer, sliced and pounded into little patties and then fried). We were explained they could not cook on that day because the breeze prevented them from keeping the fire going. Anyway, we survived on chips and it was a great visit anyway.
What can you do at Read Frog Beach? Of course you can find the tiny Red Frog, small in size, secreting a toxin that supposedly is only harmful in areas where the skin is broken. For the rest we just let the pictures of the trail and the beach do the talking. You´ll figure it out in no time.
